NORTHWEST AIRLINES NW
- Use Online Check-in 60 minutes-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart (with the exception of travel from Asia, which requires 3 hours minimum).
- Use Online Check-in if you have an electronic ticket for a Northwest or KLM flight departing from the U.S.
- Use Online Check-in if you are traveling within, to/from the 50 United States, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Asia and Europe.
- If you are on a Northwest/KLM operated flight from Europe use KLM Online check-in.
- You are not a special needs passenger.
Make sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags etc. You will be able to print your boarding pass at home but will have to drop your bags with a Northwest Airlines skycap, a Northwest Luggage Kiosk or Check-in counter at the airport before the cut-off time. Northwest Airlines's Online Check-in allows you to check-in up to 24 hours before your flight departs. When you use Online Check-in you can change, select, or upgrade your seat.
For travel to/from the U.S. or Canada:
- Northwest recommends you arrive at the airport at least 75 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure.
- You must be checked in at least 30 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure.
- If departing out of Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, Newark, Tampa and Washington D.C-Dulles the cut-off for checking in is 45 minutes.
- If departing out of Las Vegas the cut-off for checking in is 60 minutes.
For travel to/from an international destination (including the Caribbean and Mexico):
- Northwest recommends you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight's scheduled departure.
- You must be checked in at least 60 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure.
Domestic passengers need to be at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes before flight departure. International passengers need to be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before flight departure.

Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat. You can also choose to purchase a seat for your infant as long as you have the proper child restraint device. While traveling domestically a child under 2 years old (24 months) can travel for free as long as the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight. While traveling internationally a child under 2 years old (24 months) is usually charged 10% of an adult fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
