KLM's Internet Check-in allows you to check-in 24-30 hours before your flight departs. You can use Internet Check-in if you fulfill following requirements: - If traveling to the U.S. and for flights being operated by Northwest Airlines from Amsterdam, Rome, Frankfurt and Bombay, check in 1-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. - If traveling from the U.S., check-in with Northwest (Northwest's rules will apply). - If traveling from any other location, check-in 1-30 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. - You have an electronic ticket for a confirmed reservation. - You are not traveling in a group larger than 9 people. - You are not a special needs passenger (ie. Unaccompanied Minor). Make sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags etc. If you have bags to check you will be able to print your boarding pass at home but will have to drop your bags at a KLM Check-in counter at the airport before the cut-off time. When you use Internet Check-in you can change or select your seat.
If you plan to check in at the airport and traveling within Europe, both passenger and any baggage must be checked in at least 40 minutes before scheduled departure. If you plan to check in at the airport for intercontinental flights, both passenger and any baggage must be checked in at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure.

KLM is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name. It has 30,118 employees (as of March 2007). The merging of KLM with Air France in May 2004 created Air France-KLM. Air France-KLM is incorporated under French law and its headquarters are at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris. Both Air France and KLM continue to fly under their distinct brand names.
Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat. You can also choose to purchase a seat for your infant as long as you have the proper child restraint device. In international flights a child under 2 years old (24 months) is usually charged a discounted fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
